I find colour uplifting, empowering and in some cases, it can be playful too. I wanted to show how colour can be used in your wedding, in a beautiful, elegant way from vibrant coloured flowers to smaller details like coloured glassware and table linen.
The story:
Our bride is called Melody, she is a modern woman who enjoys history, period dramas and beautiful things. She loves a pop of colour and has dreamed of getting married somewhere with outdoor space, as she loves nature. She is a romantic, relaxed, fun and a thinker.
Where was this held:
The beautiful Nurstead Court in Kent provided the perfect location. It is a family run country house with lovely large rooms and wonderful views of the Kent countryside. It's elegant, laid back and understated glamour was ideal for this shoot. In my view, it is one of the best places to get married in Kent.
What was my process:
For this shoot, I brought together a brilliant team of Kent wedding suppliers. I sourced gorgeous champagne coloured tablecloths and then vibrant blue table napkins, from 88 Events which worked so well together. I decided to use different coloured glassware on the table from Classic Crockery to really add a punch. I do like variety!
Angels and Gypsies provided the wonderful gold items for the table and then expertly styled it all, adding that finishing touch. Floral Explosion provided an abundance of beautiful, vibrant roses for table flowers in gorgeous gold urns. They also provided a stunning bouquet of roses and striking coloured grasses for the fireplace, which all worked so well.
A wonderful luxury wedding cake with exquisite lifelike sugar flowers was created by the Little Sugar Box. Bespoke stationery was created by Folly and Gander, to match the colour scheme and stunning bespoke jewellery was provided by PS I love you. I included some colourful balloon columns from the Glitzy Balloon Company too, which added a unique, creative element.
Our stunning model wore a beautiful, elegant dress designed by Joyce Young Bridal and hair and makeup was expertly applied by Aina M.
I worked with a fantastic group of talented suppliers and I would do it all again tomorrow! A sample of the colourful images are below.
Styling Tip:
Using colour is a fantastic way to add your own unique stamp to your wedding, whether you use it sparingly or throughout. Give it a try, it will make your wedding pop!
